Event Related Potentials (ERP) testing is a new testing that evaluates cognitive deficits in patients that recently sustained a traumatic brain injury. This position is ambulatory setups in patient homes. The ERP setup uses the 10-20 International EEG system, so you already have the skill set for this! We can teach you the software and how to run the test. The entire test takes approximately 1 hour with the use of our electrode cap. Position Responsibilities Tech would be responsible for calling the patient to schedule setup time, confirm the patient's address, and give a brief explanation of the procedure. Upload the study from the unit to our cloud database after disconnecting. Maintain, calibrate, adjust, and troubleshoot EEG equipment. Education and Knowledge requirements Experience performing EEG setups with individual electrodes. Experience with LTM EEGs with Collodion II is preferable, but not required R. This position is responsible for the successful completion of daily laboratory operations with the main emphasis on high quality patient related procedures which adhere to the guidelines and technical standards as set forth by the American Electroencephalographic Society as published in the Journal of Clinical Neurophysiology (Vol. 11, No. 1). The expertise of technologists in this position has a major impact on the patient service provided and therefore the daily operation of the service oriented neurodiagnostic department. The Health Neurodiagnostic Tech II is a multi-skilled allied health professional who may perform diagnostic testing procedures including, but not limited to, electroencephalograms (EEG), evoked potentials (EP), nerve conduction studies (NCS), long-term monitoring for epilepsy (LTM), and intensive care unit and continuous EEG monitoring (ICU/EEG). This work is under the supervision of a physician who is responsible for the interpretation and clinical correlation of the results. The physician may not be physically present during the procedures and so the technologist must be able to analyze data during the recording, making certain that the information being obtained is valid and interpretable. A relevant patient history obtained by the technologist guides to some degree how the test will be conducted; therefore, the Neurodiagnostic Tech II must be knowledgeable in clinical neurology. Studies may be performed in a laboratory, emergency room, operating room, intensive care unit, special monitoring unit, or at the patient's bedside. Position Responsibilities Assesses and readies patient recording environment to provide quality assurance of operational instrumentation and patient safety according to regulation standards. Reviews and abstracts pertinent patient neurological history from medical chart to assess indication and correlation of requested electroneurodiagnostic procedure. Reviews, analyzes, and prepares descriptive report following conclusion of electroneurodiagnostic procedures.
