• As an IONM technologist, you play a critical role in preserving patient quality of life during surgery. Here's what that looks like day to day:

• Preoperative Assessment: Conduct thorough patient evaluations, review medical history, and explain the neuromonitoring process. Apply recording electrodes per standardized protocols.

• Equipment Setup & Calibration: Prepare and configure neuromonitoring equipment for peak performance. Troubleshoot like a pro.

• Intraoperative Monitoring: Continuously monitor neurological status, analyze electrophysiological data, and collaborate with the surgical team in real time.

• Data Analysis & Interpretation: Interpret complex waveforms and patterns, correlate findings with surgical events, and communicate critical changes clearly.

• Documentation: Maintain detailed, accurate records of monitoring activities, equipment settings, waveforms, and clinical observations.

• Quality Improvement: Contribute to initiatives that elevate patient care and sharpen operational efficiency.

• Professional Development: Stay ahead of the curve through continuing education and the latest advancements in neuromonitoring.

Requirements

• CNIM certification — this is an advanced-level IONM role

• Minimum bachelor's degree (Master's, Ph.D., or MD also welcomed)

• Valid driver's license

• COVID vaccination documentation

• Deep knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and surgically related pathologies

• Skilled at analyzing neurophysiologic and electronic waveforms

• Fluent with electrophysiological equipment and testing procedures

• Strong interpersonal skills — you're a team player in a high-stakes environment

• Physical ability to stand, move, and apply electrodes with precision and speed in an OR suite

• Ability to maintain sharp focus through extended monitoring sessions
