This company is seeking a dedicated Intraoperative Monitoring Technologist to join our growing neuromonitoring team. The IOM Technologist will perform neurophysiological monitoring in the operating room to support the functional integrity of the central and peripheral nervous systems during surgical procedures. The role includes direct patient care, coordination of IOM cases, and mentorship of trainees, with opportunities to contribute to program development, education, and quality initiatives.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week (variable hours based on surgical schedule); on-call rotations required for nights, weekends, and holidays. Perform all intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring procedures during vascular, orthopedic, and neurosurgical operations
Provide real-time waveform assessments to the surgical and anesthesia teams
Document technical findings and ensure accurate patient records
Tailor patient interaction and care based on age and cognitive status
Maintain active CPR certification
Collaborate with leadership to enhance practice guidelines and quality standards
Explore growth opportunities and partnerships to expand IOM services
Participate in clinical guidelines, credentialing, and quality improvement projects
Mentor and supervise trainee-level technical staff
Lead in-service education and provide cross-training to other neurodiagnostic technologists
Educate patients and families, adapting communication for developmental level
Serve as a technical resource for clinical staff regarding neurophysiologic procedures
Evaluate and recommend supplies and procedural updates
Assist with departmental scheduling and coordination of IOM cases
Support team development and foster positive working relationships across departments
Participate in co-worker feedback and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate on program proposals, procedural evaluations, and documentation
Perform EEG, evoked potentials, ICU monitoring, and/or polysomnography as needed
Provide technical interpretation and ensure proper documentation of all studies
Bachelor's degree or ABRET credentialing preferred
Minimum of 1 year experience in IOM procedures
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in routine neurodiagnostic (END) procedures
IOM certification and current CPR certification required
Proficiency in EEG, EP, and advanced neurodiagnostic testing
Strong clinical judgment and ability to interpret procedural results
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to function independently and collaboratively within a clinical team
Flexibility to work variable hours and participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs without assistance
May be exposed to infectious materials and life-threatening diseases
Will work across hospital departments, including OR and ER
Requires flexible schedule, including extended hours and emergency coverage
