Audiologist / IONM Surgical Neurophysiologist Trainee

Portland, OR | Full-Time | Variable Schedule + Rotating Call

Our healthcare partner, a clinician-founded, Joint Commission-accredited IONM provider monitoring more than 40,000 patients a year, is seeking an Audiologist (IONM experience preferred) for a stationary regional position supporting multiple facilities in the Portland, OR area. Full training is provided toward independent monitoring and CNIM certification.

What You'll Do

Work alongside neurotologists during cochlear implantation and complex skull base tumor resections requiring cranial nerve monitoring, and perform cochlear implant testing across all major manufacturers, including impedance and placement testing and NRT/NRI/ART assessment.

  • Take an active part in the set-up and monitoring of each case.
  • Set up the monitoring station and maintain monitoring equipment.
  • Monitor the spinal cord, nerve roots, peripheral nerves, cranial nerves, and cerebral blood flow during surgery.
  • Evaluate electronic and neurophysiologic waveforms.
  • Apply electrodes efficiently and precisely in preparation for monitoring.
  • Type technical reports and archive patient records on the web portal.
  • Study IONM material in preparation for the CNIM exam.

What We're Looking For

  • Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) required, or currently enrolled in an accredited Au.D. program and on track to finish by December 31, 2027.
  • CCC-A and state licensure preferred.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, neuroanatomy, pathologic processes, and aseptic technique.
  • Ability to study independently toward independent monitoring and CNIM exam preparation, and to progress within the IONM Analyst Training Program.
  • Strong communication skills with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR staff.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time with a variable weekly schedule based on surgical caseload.
  • Rotating on-call coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Local staff serving local facilities throughout the Portland area, backed by a 24/7 operations support team.
  • Must be able to lift and transport equipment up to 50 lbs.
